Schedule of Closures and Parking Restrictions 

Kids Ride – Sunday, 26 May 2024 

Closures 

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday, 26 May 2024 between the hours of 10.00 and 12.30. These closures will only come into effect at such times when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform or appropriate signing is in place. 

Station Road from Howieson Hall 

Lower Green 

Chapel Brae 

A702 from Chapel Brae to Medwyn Road

Closures

Lower Green will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 18:00 and 21:30 for the gathering and culmination of the cavalcade. 

Alternative Route –  

Northbound – via Main Street and Chapel Brae to point of closure 

Southbound – The above in reverse. 

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on 31 May 2024 between the hours of 18:00 and 21:30. These closures will only come into effect at such times when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform or appropriate signing is in place. 

  • Main Street
  • School Brae
  • Deanfoot Road – from School Brae to Main Street
  • B7059 from Main Street to Broomlee Road
  • Bogsbank Road – from Main Street to Fergusson View
  • Fergusson View
  • A702 – from Main Street to School Brae

No waiting 

Parking will be prohibited on 31 May 2024 between the hours of 17:30 and 21:30 on the following roads: 

  • Main Street – from the A702 to Broomlee Road
  • Deanfoot Road – from School Brae to Main Street
  • School Brae
  • Lower Green – from the Old Toll House to Main Street

Saturday, 1 June 2024 

Rideout 

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on 1 June 2024 between the hours of 09:30 and 16:30. These closures will only come into effect at such times when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform or appropriate signing is in place. 

  • Station Road
  • Main Street
  • Mowbray Slap
  • Croft Road
  • Deanfoot Road – from Croft Road to Main Street
  • Chapel Brae
  • A702 – from Dolphinton to a point 100 metres North of Cottage Farm
  • Medwyn Road – from the Golf Course to the A702

Closures 

Lower Green will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 10:00 and 14.00 

Alternative Route –  

Northbound – via Main Street and Chapel Brae to point of closure 

Southbound – The above in reverse. 

No waiting 

Parking will be prohibited on the 1 June 2024 between the hours of 09:00 and 16:30 on the following roads: 

  • Deanfoot Road – from Main Street to Croft Road
  • Main Street – from Deanfoot Road to Bogsbank Road
  • Lower Green
  • Station Road – from Roderick Place to Howieson Place.

Loading will be permitted from 12:30 – 13:15 at the Lower Green.

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on 2 June 2024 between the hours of 10.40 and 11.00. These closures will only come into effect at such times when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform or appropriate signing is in place.

Family Cycle Rideout – Sunday, 2 June 2024 

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday, 2 June 2024 between the hours of 10:30 and 13:00. These closures will only come into effect at such times when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform or appropriate signing is in place.

  • Whitfield
  • C3 – from Whitfield to Deepsyke Forest

Sports Event – Monday, 3 June 2024  

Lower Green will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 17:00 and 21:00 for the bicycle and scooter races and kids and Junior Football.

Northbound – via Main Street and Chapel Brae to point of closure 

Southbound – The above in reverse. 

Sports Event – Wednesday, 5 June 2024 

Lower Green will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 18:00 and 21:00 for the cross-country races.

Cross Country Races – Wednesday, 5 June 2024 

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on 5 June 2024 between the hours of 18:30 and 19:30. These closures will only come into effect at such times when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform or appropriate signing is in place.

  • B7059 from Station Road to Broomlee Mains
  • Bogsbank Road
  • C4 from Bogsbank Road to A701

Sports Event – Thursday, 6 June 2024 

Lower Green will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 17:30 and 21:00 for the Junior/Secondary Rugby. 

Alternative Route –  

Northbound – via Main Street and Chapel Brae to point of closure 

Southbound – The above in reverse. 

Sports Event – Saturday, 8 June 2024 

Lower Green will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 12:00 and 22:30 for the community sports and family night.

Procession 

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on 8 June 2024 between the hours of 13:00 and 13:45. These closures will only come into effect at such times when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform or appropriate signing is in place.
